Ringing in Food

Learn the basics of the POS system

Ringing in the food is required by all employees.  Here are some details you should know.

  • Everyone is given a user code.   You will always use this code and never share it with others.   Sometimes delivery drivers will have two numbers.  You will learn more about this from management.
  • You must have the look.  A successful cashier exhibits these qualities.
    • You smile
    • You’re friendly
    • You understand the guest in front of you is the most important thing happening
    • You are confident
    • You seem knowledgable
  •  Every order starts by selecting the order type.  It’s very important you make the right selection.  they are:
    • Dine in
    • Take out
    • Delivery
  • It’s important that we lead the guest through the dining experience.  While we are a fast casual restaurant, we still want to make sure the guests is receiving great service.  You are working for tips by the way.
    • When a meat selection is required, the default suggestion is ALWAYS chicken.
      • An example… “Would you like chicken in your curry panang?  or “Are you ordering that with chicken?”
      • Always suggest an appetizer.  An easy upset are egg rolls.  “Would you like to add a pair of egg rolls?”
      • Finally, for all DINE-IN guests, be sure to offer a beverage.
  • When offering side items to guests, even though there are many items, we only suggest rice.  This is exactly what you should say.
    • “What kind of rice would you like?”.  If they pause or look confused, you can give them more information.  “Would you like white, brown, or fried rice for $1.75?”
  • When substituting items in dishes there are some rules to follow.
    • Meats are selected under the meat menu.  If a guest wants more than one kind of meat in their dish, we always charge for the most expensive one.
      • All dishes containing Chicken, Tofu, or Pork start at $7.95
      • All dishes that get beef or tilapia are a dollar more or $8.95
      • All dishes that contain shrimp are $9.95 or two dollars more
    • Vegetables can be exchanged without additional cost.  Let’s understand some verbiage first.
      • Exchange means to trade an item with another.  There is no additional cost to trade.
      • Add means to add an additional item, but this will be for additional cost.
      • Each item comes with a certain number of vegetables.  If a guest wants to trade one vegetable, for another, there is no additional cost
      • If the guests wants to add a vegetable, you must charge .50 cents.
  • Let’s talk about adding items.
    • Each additional added vegetable is .50
    • When adding meat, this means the guest is getting more than the usual amount.  There are buttons for these.  Adding meat gets them an additional 4 ounces.  Double meat gets them an additional 1/2 pound.
